Kivexa/Epzicom is a combination pill of two NRTIs; abacavir and lamivudine.  It was approved in 2000 and is taken once a day with or without food. Generally it is well tolerated but a few people report fatigue and headaches that usually clear up within a few weeks. Before starting this medication you should have genetic HLA-B*5701 sensitivity testing.
